MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL PLAYERS RECOGNIZED - Calhoun Captures Two From Roane County (02/10/2004) Calhoun's Middle School basketball players were honored last night at Mt. Zion for their hard work this season. Coach Mike Sims and Jeff Houchin gave the players basketball metals and roses to present to their mothers. A special slide show developed by Norma Collins was presented at half-time, honoring the players. The "A" team was ahead of Roane 24-4 at half-time, and went on to defeat the Yellow Jackets 42-14. Scoring for the "A" game: Matt Houchin, 11; Andrew Norman, 5; Jesse Keesler, 8; John Dodd, 8; Zach Moore, 2; Chance Hardway, 4; Travis Godfrey, 2 and Josh Cain, 2. Scoring for the "B" game: Brandon Cottrell, 10; Danny Burkett, 4; John Sampson, 4; Josh Cain, 3; Travis Godfrey, 4; and Justin Gerwig, 1.
