The Lime Incentive program benefits the people of West Virginia by:
Provides incentive to local farmers for the maintenance of permanent grasses and/ or legumes on grassland.
Provides soil and watershed protection by reducing erosion on grassland.
Helps reduce water, air, and soil pollution from non-point sources on grasslands.
Reduces soil erosion from wind and water, which contributes to flooding.
Helps reduce factors contributing to flooding, which has a major impact on economic and social stability in rural communities.
