Sue White McCoy, 85 - Goose Creek, South Carolina

Sue M. McCoy, 85, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, formerly of Grantsville, passed away October 15, 2009 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born August 29, 1924 in St. Marys and was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Irene Snider White.

Prior to her retirement, she was the owner and operator of Calhoun Insurance Agency, and was a member of the Calhoun County Bank board of directors.

Prior to her husband's death, she was a devoted homemaker and active participant in scouting and the 4-H projects of her two sons. She was a member of the St. Andrews UM Church in Parkersburg.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Arden McCoy and her second husband, Plummer A. Rush, two brothers, Billy Gene and Jack White.

Surviving, sons, John F. McCoy and his fiancée Tammy Fowler of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Dr. J. Michael McCoy and his wife Melissa of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Mrs. McCoy's grandchildren are Meredith Leigh Morris and her husband Marshall of Morgantown; Lauren Suzanne Shellberg and her husband Kyle of Golden, Colorado; Patrick Michael McCoy of Knoxville, Tennessee.

A sister, Ann Hersman of Spencer; a sister-in-law Joberta White of Sistersville; nieces, Jolynn Burns of Vienna, and Jill Anderson of York, Pennsylvania; nephews, Mark and Greg Anderson of Spencer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville. Rev. Don Maxon will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
